Schoolstock: 3 Days of Peace & Music (from the Woodstock, 1969 3 day music festival, visited by 500,000) The aim of our project is to get teens into the US culture through music. What is Schoolstock? It's a festival which will last for 3 days and include: >Traditional short lectures on American music for 7th & 8th graders based on our experience taken during our trip to the USA conducted in the context of their lessons in Music and World Culture. >Thematic hippie party for 9-11th grade with live music performances by our beginner school bands (as Yekaterinburg is the capital of Russian Rock’n’Roll there's always a great rush around musical events). >Creating an area in the Internet (on vk.com), where people, who are interested in American culture, will be able to learn something new about music from the USA, share their experience, find information about upcoming events (gigs, exhibitions and a lot more); we are also going to share our "American experience" there. The Schoolstock will give us an oppotunity to revive the amphitheatre (about which we are talking in our "introducing ourselves" video). We know Russian and American music brought together on the open air stage will be a rallying point for people supporting this idea. We are absolutely sure that these 3 Schoolstock steps will allow us to involve as many people as possible (students of our school and new bands from our region, people who are not indifferent to the amphitheatre or to music (we've had a great Young Movement several years ago: the Young Russians got together to build blocks of flats in the area we are living now; in Russian it's called "МЖК".
